Dear Sue, Megan, Tyler & Jill,

I trust you are all slowly healing after such a poignant loss…

For me, the world has not had such an iconic loss since Brower passed.

During Jerry Brown I, I had the privilege of experiencing Huey and how his vision inspired the Governor to set California in more environmentally grounded long-term directions. How he attracted and drew in a remarkable circle of staff and tutored them in how to create change, still takes my breath away.

And in my sorrow for the loss of the Stanislaus, he planted the seed of the worlds’ rivers’ needs. On returning from global travels, his offer of support confirmed my initiating International Rivers—adding to the list of organizations he helped launch.

So many more Huey stories… hope to get to share them with you downstream, maybe even around a campfire.

Soooo much gratitude for Huey’s stunning fierce powerful visionary leadership on behalf of our Sacred Earth!
    My heart is with you….
    Sending so much love
