Huey was my boss from 2003-07, my mentor, and friend. His vision, compassion, direct forward momentum, honesty, and depthful questioning provided me with fodder to carry on into CDFW and now as a Sierra Club N CA Forest Committee chair, representing the very forests and watercourses he worked so hard to preserve. I will always remember, “when you find a gap in sustainability – do something to fix it!” From one midwesterner to another – thank you Huey. My heart is sad, though joy filled at having been in your presence.
